Open hours

  • Weekdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Service Counter Closed from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM)

Closing Days

  • Saturdays, Sundays
  • National holidays, Summer business holidays, New Year's holidays (December 29 to January 3)
  • and also will be closed temporarily if necessary

*Members of Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute (AORI) can enter the library 24 hours a day.
(To enter the library, need a Student/Faculty ID card or entrance card (IC card))


Eligibility for use of library

Persons affiliated with University of Tokyo

Faculty members, graduate students, undergraduate students, and university personnel.

Persons from outside University of Tokyo

Alumni, Other universities affiliation person, Others.
・In the application we would ask to specify a book or a journal which you read.
・An application by e-mail or facsimile is acceptable. 　　　

*Please be sure to do an application of use in advance. ; a part of library collection are held in rooms of research groups.
*Collection of the Otsuchi Coastal Research Center is available only in case that there should be no other owing libraries.


Admission to library

Users must present a student ID or personal identification to gain admission ; Non-Members of AORI are required to sign an application form.

Reading in library

  • Procedure : None
  • Hours : Same as regular library hours
  • Microfiche reader also available.

Borrowing

  • Eligibility : Persons affiliated with University of Tokyo
  • Requirements : Student/Faculty ID card or Library IC Card
Members of AORI
Maximum number of books There is no limit
Length of borrowing term for a period of 2 weeks
Loan extension is allowed unlimited, except for reserved items.
*Newest issue of periodicals may be borrowed for only 1 day.
Non-Members of AORI
Maximum number of books 3 books at a single time
Length of borrowing term for a period of 2 weeks
Loan extension is allowed once, except for reserved items.

Photocopying

Procedures for photocopying

Fill out an application form and submit the form at the service counter.

Materials not available

Collection of the Otsuchi Coastal Research Center is available only in case that there should be no other owing libraries which can accept requests for photocopies.
